São Paulo Fashion Week Follow Up

São Paulo Fashion Week, the biggest fashion event of Latin America, is taking place right now at Bienal building, in Ibirapuera park in São Paulo. It started on wendesday (24th janurary) with a Mad Max army from designer Reinaldo Lourenço, who was inspired by king Edward.
Then it was time to see the romantic gladiators of Gisele Nasser, wearing mini embroidered dresses, rich in details, in a sexier collection. From gladiators to oriental muses, designer Fause Haten showed a collection inspired on the oriental culture, with great clean gowns.
Osklen, the most ecological correct brand from Brazil, presented its Amazon Forest Guardians, in an amizing work with sustainable fabrics. Before that, designer Tufi Duek, from Forum, took us to an Oscar Niemeyer’s world, revisiting his classical circulars shapes, with futuristic perfume.
The grand finale of day 1, was by Alexandre Herchcovitch. Inspired by rural and mine workers, he left fashionistas astonished mixing synthetic material – such as vynil and plastic – with more natural ones.
The second day of SPFW started at a villa, with Raia de Goeye’s show. The duo Paula Raia and Fernanda de Goeye presented their urban elfs, in a series of looks featuring a good work of texture, and architectural shapes.
Back to Bienal building, Patricia Vieria confirms her expertise in leather clothes. Treating the material with suede, Patricia achieves and Matrix look, as sexy and actual as it can be. Then Ellus put his futuristic warrior on the cat walk, with futuristic aesthetic and utilitarian clothes.
Alexandre Herchoctich, now at Cori, takes us to Island and the Viking culture, presenting lots of ecological furs. And Renato Kherlakian, at Zoomp, opens the brand’s archieve for his winter 2007 collection, while Tufi Duek, here for Triton, is inspired by artist Yayoi Kusama.
Lino Villaventura closed the day 2, with a dramatic show of extremely well constructed pleated and draped dresses, with Swarovisky applications on leggings and gloves.
Day 3 was more like a time travel around the Globe. First designer Gloria Coelho revisited the wardrobe of powerful men of 18th century. Re-designing it’s classical aesthetic to a feminine and modern way.
Then Alexandre Herchcovitch, went to the Eskimos for his menswear collection. Direct from ice-age his models had a snowy make-up, and fury clothes. But the urban and modern aesthetic was mixed to that, resulting in the best menswear collection seen so far.
Then at the end of the day, Ronaldo Fraga transformed the runway in a industry dinner table, where uniformed oriental workers ate their china-in-box. His collection was totally inspired by China, with large forms, and relaxed silhouette.
