Scientists Create ‘Super Carrot’

Scientists have created a ‘super carrot’ which provides extra calcium. The genetically modified vegetable is believed to help prevent brittle bone disease and osteoporosis. Scientists claim the super carrot absorbs 41% more calcium than that of a regular carrot after carrying out tests and experiments.
Whilst most fruit and vegetables have significant health benefits, they are not necessarily the best source of calcium. Dairy products are the main dietary source of the mineral but as we are well aware, consuming a high level of dairy produce can be damaging to health, causing excessive levels of saturated fat and therefore causing a higher risk of heart disease.
Now the super carrot has arrived, it signifies a potential shift in the benefits of vegetables. Scientists have confirmed however, that further research is necessary before we see the super carrot hitting our health shop and supermarket shelves.
