Feeling tired and have had enough of city jams, pollution and all those causes of stress provoked by our contemporary “civilized” society? This is the idea that Ben Keene and his friend Mark James had back in 2006 and, with the aim of starting a new online business they decided to launch an online community website. At the beginning, the idea was to simply add common community’s feature, upload pictures, chat and correspond with friends and so on, but then something changed, and the subject line “Tribe Wanted” came up. Yes, the virtual tribe will soon become a real one, the members will travel to a desert island and form a partnership with an indigenous tribe with the intention to build an environmentally friendly tourist facility and show it off to the world as a model of low-impact development.

Almost two years since the brainstorming and raw idea have passed and the tribe is now growing each single day. Keen, who then moved to the island while his business partner James remains in the UK to administer the business, also wrote a book and a documentary produced by the BBC (which is also available to watch on the website).
