Gucci The Movie
Ridley Scott is set to direct a new movie documenting the Gucci story - one of fashion’s most iconic labels.
Ridley’s wife, Giannina Facio, will fulfil the role as producer and a writer for the script has been individually selected due to the current Writers Guild of America strike. Scott has not yet announced who this will be.
Facio did reveal however, at a dinner hosted by Salma Hayek, that the team will search meticulously through Gucci’s archives for history, family secrets and original Gucci pieces from the 1960s to the 1990s that will feature in the film. It will chart the rise of Gucci from an Italian family business to Tom Ford’s iconic and exquisite Gucci of the nineties.
Scott is renowned for his fantastic choice of casting, and there is currently great anticipation as to who will be cast in the leading roles.
