Gisele Bündchen is undoubtedly one the country´s finest exports in the world of modelling but considering the number of beauties living in Brazil, it´s surprising to see just how dominant her presence within advertising is there.

Signed to Elite Model Management Brazil, Lidy Weber has modelled for the past five years. She shared her thoughts on the state of the Brazilian modelling industry with Chic Today:

“For black girls it´s impossible. Black girls without a rich Daddy and bribing influence, that is. We have no chance within the Brazilian industry.

I find Rio´s fashion week embarrassing - you look at the huge proportion of black people who make up our population and it just doesn´t correspond on the catwalk.

The only way I´ll make it is to get out of Brazil.”
