Turning Ikea Trash into Taste
Personally, I am not a big fan of Ikea unless it comes to kitchen utensils and shower curtains. So you can imagine my sheer disbelief when I discovered that the entire bathroom sink-drawers-towel rail scenario pictured above, which could easily have been snapped in some swanky boutique hotel, was in fact constructed entirely out of reassembled pieces of Ikea furniture.
“My family and I used a 3 drawer bath unit with beech front in this hack. We used an existing pedestal sink, put the Ikea 3 drawer unit below as well as an Ikea grundtal double towel rack. Then, we took a black laminate shelf, cut out around the sink and put it on top. We added towels below and you have a poor man’s bowl sink!”
I take my hat off to Scott, who shared his ingenious creativity on Ikea Hack, because he so perfectly embodies the concept that good taste is not about money or designer-brands, but wholly and simply about using your imagination.
