Bolongaro Trevor A/W 08: Exclusive Preview
London,UK–Yesterday, Chic Today dolly-stepped to Mo*vida to attend an exclusive viewing of the latest A/W 2008 collection by Bolongaro Trevor, created by the ex-designers of All Saints. The new range is sharp and bold but extremely versatile and wearable. Taking inspiration from Queen Victoria and the British Lion, the collection is all about power dressing from the 40’s, 50’s and the 80’s. The military theme is a common feature throughout the pieces, which are characterized by a rocky yet feminine edge.
The designers have cleverly created a selection of garments which can be worn in various ways – a 234 in one, for example, dresses which transform into jackets. Keeping it dangerously feminine, us ladies can look forward to big knits, dramatic jackets and flirty dresses. A particular piece which took my eye was a fabulous star print dress. Star prints are huge this season following Kate Moss’s famous Chanel dress, and the trend is set to continue. The design of the dress takes inspiration from a popular trend but retains individuality in the cut and style. I certainly have an eager eye on this!
The mens range comprises of hard-edged, uniquely British tailored coats, reworked knits combined with classically tailored sharp shirts. Patriotic t-shirts are also a common feature within the collection, adding an element of British rock style, reminiscent of the East-London, Shoreditch scene.
A fun yet concise collection, filled with future edgy classics. The wearer of Bolongaro and Trevor really means business!
