Katia and Marielle Labèque are the very definition, the very essence of true musical talent. Embodying a virtuosic gift which graces only the rare few, they effortlessly interpret pianistic music which transcends boundaries and touches the very core of their listeners.  Their glittering performance at London’s packed Cadogan Hall last Thursday had the audience perched on the edge of their seats in speechless awe, with their colourful and versatile programme spanning from Debussy to Schubert, and of course, Ravel. Indeed, their mother was herself a pupil of Marguerite Long, and from their early childhood, the sisters have been immersed in the notes of classical music. From their light yet precise touch emanated ethereal sounds, their broad palette of notes and fluid melodical phrases utterly capturing our imagination.

Their incredible international career has seen them perform with the likes of the Vienna Philharmonic, the London Symphony and the Berlin Philharmonic (to name but a few), whilst Madonna is one of their most ardent fans. Their versatile repertoire embraces a wide range of musical styles, from Bach and Brahms to Bernstein and Boulez, making these ladies a truly unique pianistic duo.
