The Art of Shop Dropping

The everyday is transformed into art, placing it in unconventional spaces such as supermarket aisles and ‘disrupting the mundane commercial process with a purely artistic moment’. Shop dropping may prompt some of you to raise your eyebrows in quizzical disbelief, proclaiming that surely art must have substance in order for it to be described so. Yet I firmly believe that, amongst those canned vegetables and beans, shop dropping is speaking of an artistic evolution that reflects the very evolution that is being experienced by global society itself. For that alone, it undoubtedly deserves its recognition within the modern art circles of today.
