A World Of Closets

Finding that perfect bedroom wardrobe can turn into something of a mission, especially if you (like me) are looking to avoid Ikea like the plague. But if you arm yourself with a little time (and plenty of patience) and look beyond those plain cookie-cutter furnishings, I promise that you will absolutely love what you find.
For example, I can’t get enough of Alias’ Legnomobile wardrobe (above) designed by Alfredo Haberli. Composed of various elements which can be removed or added to the main base, this is a highly versatile piece of furniture which you can adjust to suit your taste-of-the-moment. Meanwhile, I’ve started looking into the various walk-in-wardrobe options for my future Manhattan loft, and Feg’s Cargo line by Studio Castiglia Associati (above left) absolutely tops my list. The neutral wood panelling, coupled with the sleek design of its shelves and drawers make it a perfect home for your threads and shoes, and I particularly like the design which incorporates an overhead skylight (which also means I will have to start looking for a penthouse loft…)
For something a little more wallet-friendly, but equally as unique, Cia International’s funky closets
(right) feature chameleonic sliding doors made from clear Ecolux, which allows you to change its printed designs as and when you please. Finally, Fears & Kahn’s Primo
Drawers (left) from the 1950’s are not exactly what you would call a closet, but this French Walnut unit, with its multi-coloured faces, would look perfect in any bedroom and used for storing everything from bed-linen to your lingerie.
And for those of you with far too many clothes and not enough space to keep everything under your New York roof, Garde Robe’s luxury Cyber Closet is the perfect solution to your storage problems. The gorgeous Iman is one of their biggest fans, whilst Forbes.com has described it as ‘the perfect gift from a CEO to his traveling minions.’ Their vast classic loft houses your garments in climate controlled conditions, and you can have everything from you bedroom slippers to your Chanel tailleur delivered to your doorstep at a click of a button. And for those of you in Asia, Garde Robe has recently opened its virtual Japan-based closet.
