You may (or may not) have noticed that I have not written about The Event that has been the talk of the fashion world of late, the Paris Haute Couture 2008/2009 fashion week. The reason being that for the first time in my career, I have been forced to attend other pressing work issues, and I still haven’t really gotten over get the sartorialist depression that this has caused.

Nevertheless, that certainly won’t stop me from sharing with you my favourite video of the past few days, the Christian Dior Haute Couture by John Galliano Fall Winter 08/09 collection. Revealing absolutely stunning couture with exceptional shapes and edgy patterns, these were juxtaposed with a music tracklist that approached the ethereal (such as Kate Bush’s Under Ice). Once again, the fashion world bore witness to Galliano’s miracle.

Enjoy this first part and try to visualize yourself as being there (well, that was my doctor’s advice…)
