Forget Carrie Bradshaw’s beloved Cosmos this season, fruit-infused cocktails are what’s going to quench the thirst of models this season. Chambord Black Raspberry liqueur, an all-natural sweet alcoholic beverage produced in France’s Loire Valley, will serve as the official drink for the third time at the all-exclusive Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City. “Chambord adds an element of style to any cocktail,” announced brand manager Meghan Murray. “We’re thrilled to partner with IMG Fashion once again and to be a part of the excitement surrounding Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.” However, there’s more to the mouthwatering, rich Chambord than just being a chosen poison for muses, artists, and those who just want an excuse to shop.

The royal mauve drink, made with ripe black raspberries, tart blackberries, along with silky smooth Madagascar vanilla, spicy Moroccan orange peel, honey, and cognac, an ideal companion for many VIP guests expected to attend. Made in the picturesque Loire Valley, also known as “the land of castles,” Chambord was reportedly first sipped by King Louis XIV, best known for drinking champagne with every meal he had. It’s no wonder that his visits to Chateau Chambord in 1686 inspired this delicious, decadent drink that both designers and fashionistas can share under the same tents. As many anticipate seeing the spring 2009 creations of notable designers, such as Betsey Johnson, Oscar De La Renta, and Carolina Herrera, attendees can relax in the lobby with a cold, refreshing glass of Chambord to awaken their spirits.

If you can’t attend Fashion Week in Manhattan’s Bryant Park this year, don’t tear your delicate Anna Sui silk shirtdress out of frustration. The reps from Chambord were gracious enough in providing Chic Today the most sought-after recipes to making the velvety smooth cocktails served at the event bars.
